How to Add a Header Image to a Dapple Submission Form

Here's how to add a header image to the top of your form

Written by Oz Osbaldeston

To add a header image to a submission form, open the project → Form Builder → Design → Header Image, then upload a PNG or JPEG. The header appears as a banner at the top of the form and is the first thing creators see. Use a 3:1 ratio image (recommended 1800x600px) so it looks crisp on every screen size.

Why add a header image?

  • Adds brand recognition — creators see your logo or imagery before reading any field.

  • Creates a clean banner-style layout that anchors the form visually.

  • Adds legitimacy — a branded form looks more professional than a default one.

  • Keeps branding visible without taking up too much vertical space.

  • Appears in the confirmation email sent to the creator

How to add a header image

  1. Open the project → Form Builder.

  2. Open the Design & Settings tab.

  3. Click Header Image.

  4. Click Change and choose a PNG or JPEG from your device.

  5. Save.

Each project's form can have its own header image, so different programmes can carry different visuals.

Best practice for header images

  • Avoid embedding text directly in the image — assistive tech can't read it, and it looks fuzzy on retina displays.

  • Use a horizontal image — vertical images get cropped awkwardly.

  • Compress before uploading. A 3 MB image will slow your form on mobile.

  • Test on mobile after uploading — the header crop point shifts on narrow screens.
