Switching to Dapple from another platform? You can import previous creators in bulk via CSV — open the Creators section, click Add → Import from CSV, download the template, fill it in, and upload. You can import up to 1,000 creators per file. Past submissions and attachments cannot be imported, only contact records.
Before you import
Make sure the data was collected lawfully. Dapple acts as a data processor — importing creator contact details is fine as long as you have the right to use that data and it complies with applicable data protection laws (GDPR, CCPA, etc.).
What you can and can't import:
✅ Creator contact details (email, name, date of birth, address)
❌ Past submissions
❌ Files or attachments from previous systems
The point of importing is visibility — when an existing creator applies through Dapple, you can immediately see they've engaged with you before.
What columns does the CSV need?
Column | Required? | Format |
Yes | Standard email address | |
name | Yes | Full name |
dob | No | YYYY-MM-DD |
address | No | Full address as a single field |
Easiest path: download the sample template directly from Dapple during the import flow and use it as your starting point.
How to import creators
Open the Creators section in your workspace.
Click Add → Import from CSV.
Download the sample template.
Add your data to the template, save the file.
Upload the file back into Dapple.
Review the row-by-row preview Dapple shows you, then confirm.
Import limits
Up to 1,000 creators per CSV.
If you have more than 1,000, split your data into multiple files.
For migrations of 10,000+ records, contact support and we'll guide you through the best approach.
We strongly recommend tagging imported creators
During import, Dapple prompts you to apply a Creator Tag to all imported records. Use this. Suggested tag names:
Imported
Legacy Applicants
Pre-Dapple Applicants
When an imported creator submits to a future open call, you'll instantly see they were in your system before. For tag setup, see How to Set Up Tags in Dapple
Best practice: run a small test batch first
If you're migrating thousands of records, upload 10 rows first as a sanity check. Confirm the data looks right inside Dapple before doing the full import. Better to catch a column-mapping issue on 10 rows than untangle 1,000.
