If you are a member of a Review Panel, the admin team will be able to allocate submissions for you to review.

How to Review Submissions

  1. In order to review submissions, you will need to be added to the organisation as a user. You will receive an email asking you to join the organisation. After you accept, you will have your own personalised Review Account where all submissions will populate when assigned to you, ready for your review.

  2. There are several options in the left-hand panel.

    • Submissions - if you have made submissions (as a creator), you will see a list of your previously submitted work

    • Settings - you will be able to customise elements of your account here

    • Reviews - Here you will be able to see a list of your pending/in progress/completed reviews

    • Review panels - a list of all the review panels you have been invited to join

  3. Select the Reviews section to see a list of submissions that have been assigned to you and your panel. If none have been assigned to you yet, this will appear as blank. As soon as some reviews have been assigned, you will see them populate in the Pending Reviews section.

  4. Choose the first submission in the list and click Start Feedback to open up the page where you can begin to give feedback

  5. You will then see 3 different sections laid out as columns: the feedback section, submission form and an attachment(s). Choose from the Combined tab which of these columns you'd like to see in this view. For example, you may only want to have the Feedback section and the Attachments section side by side, removing the form fields.

  6. Select the small dots on the edges of the column and drag to widen. You may for example, want to make the image larger and decrease the size of the feedback column. This sizing will remain saved, even if you navigate away from the page.

  7. The admin team will have added the method by which you need to evaluate. There are 3 options: a score, a vote and comments. The admin team have the option to activate one, two or all of these feedback fields. All fields are mandatory to complete a submission.

  8. Once you have given your feedback, you can select save feedback your to come back to later. We would highly recommend saving all your first reviews rather than immediately submitting them as complete. Once a submission is marked as complete, it can't be edited further as it will have been submitted back to the admin team. Once you have saved your review, it will automatically move into the in progress list.

  9. Work through your list of assigned submissions until you have reviewed all of those submissions assigned to you. You will be able to review all the feedback you have given in the next section.

  10. You will now see all of the submissions you have reviewed in the in progress section. You will be able to see at-a-glance, the score, vote and part of your feedback comments. You are able to open up the saved submission to edit this further or make changes by selecting continue feedback.

  11. If you have completed all the feedback fields, the submission will be marked with a Ready tag. You can quickly see a list of all your submissions are ready by using the Show ready toggle.

  12. Once you have reviewed all submissions, you can either individually mark them as complete by selecting the dropdown option next to Continue Feedback and selecting as Mark as complete or do this in bulk. To do in bulk, select the Show ready only toggle and to reveal the Mark x ready as completed. Selecting this will then mark all those ready submissions as complete. They will then appear in the final tab as Completed.

Best Practices for Reviewing Submissions

Here are some best practices that should help you with the review process.

Break the work into manageable chunks

  • Don’t try to review everything in one sitting

  • Split large volumes into smaller batches (for example, 25 submissions per day over 4 days)

  • Leave time at the end to revisit earlier reviews with fresh eyes

Review consistently, then refine

  • Focus on completing each review first rather than perfecting it

  • Save every review as you go

  • Come back later to make edits or adjustments—this often leads to clearer, fairer decisions

Build in a reflection pass

  • Use your final review session to double-check scoring, notes, or feedback

  • Look for inconsistencies across submissions

  • This helps reduce snap judgments made early on

Use bulk actions where possible

  • Once submissions are ready, mark them in bulk instead of one by one

  • This saves time and helps maintain momentum

  • Bulk actions are especially useful at the final decision stage
