When managing a large number of submissions, efficiency and clarity are key. Dapple’s bulk stage change feature allows you to move multiple submissions to a new stage at once — saving time, keeping your workflow tidy, and ensuring creators stay informed.

Sending from the Submissions List View

  1. Navigate to the main submission list view

  2. Use the filters where necessary to compile a list of those creators you'd like to move.

  3. Please Note - You can only bulk change the Stage of submissions in the same project. If you try and select submissions from different projects, you will receive a warning message and be unable to move.

  4. Select the submissions you'd like to change or use the "Select All" option to select all of those submissions in the list.

  5. Select the action button, choose Move Stage and select the desired Stage from the list of available stages within that project. A summary will then be given to show how many submissions will be moved.

Moving from the Stages View

You can also bulk move submissions within a project Stage. To do this:

  1. Navigate to the Stages view and select the project you want to bulk change

  2. Choose the stage in which you want to move all submissions contained within. Select the button at the bottom of the stage (essentially a "select all" for all those submissions).

  3. Select the Move Stage option and select the Stage to move them all to.

  4. A final dialogue box will appear confirming how many submissions are about to be moved.

Why is the Bulk Move Feature Useful?

There are several reasons why you'd want to use this in practice:

Save Time on Repetitive Tasks

You’ve reviewed a batch of submissions and they’re all ready to move to the next stage

  • You’re reviewing submissions with a team and have reached a consensus.

  • A deadline has passed and you’re advancing everything received before that point.

  • You’ve filtered submissions by tags, reviewers, or status and want to progress a filtered group.

Keep Your Process Organised

Stages help reflect your internal workflow — and bulk updates help maintain that structure at scale. It ensures that your dashboard accurately mirrors the status of your submission pool, so nothing gets lost or left behind.

For example:

  • Move all submissions that didn’t meet criteria to “Not Selected.”

  • Advance strong contenders to a shortlist stage.

  • Move everything still under discussion to “In Review.”

Keeping your submissions in the right stage means your team knows what’s where, and what needs attention next.

Keep Creators Informed

When you change the stage of a submission, it automatically updates the creator’s dashboard. This helps manage expectations and reduces the need for one-off emails.

Bulk stage changes are especially helpful when:

  • You're notifying a group of creators that they’ve advanced or not been selected.

  • You’re moving submissions to the final “Published” or “Completed” stage.

  • You want to reflect that something is now under active review.

Being transparent in bulk keeps communication consistent and avoids gaps.

Best Practices

  • Use filters to make sure you're only selecting the submissions you intend to update.

  • Double-check the new stage before confirming the change — it applies to all selected submissions.

  • Communicate clearly if creators will receive a stage update notification — consider following up with a bulk message if needed.
