Sometimes, things change mid-opportunity - maybe you forgot to include a field when you first created the form, or new information needs to be gathered. Whatever the reason, Dapple makes it easy to update forms at any point, even after submissions have opened.
You Can Update Forms at Any Time
Whether you're mid-way through a callout or just catching a mistake, you can edit your form whenever you need to. Changes will take effect immediately on the creator side — no need to pause or restart your opportunity. This means all new submitters will see the updated version of the form right away.
How to Update
To update a submission form:
Settings > Organisation Settings > Projects.
Select the project you want to change and select the Form option.
Make your change to the form whether it be updating existing fields, adding new ones or changing form design etc.
Once done, select the Save and Update option and select Save to update the current version.
This will then update the form to the new version and anyone now visiting your form link will see this updated form.
To see any previous forms used, select Version History. You can view those versions and revert the form back to those ones if required.
What Happens to Existing Submissions?
Dapple keeps track of form versions automatically. If a creator submitted through an earlier version of the form, that version is saved with their submission. This means:
You can always view the exact form they saw when they submitted.
You won’t lose context or data if questions or sections change later on.
Each submission is linked to the specific version of the form used at the time of submission, giving you full transparency into what was asked and answered.
Version History
You can also view previous versions of your form. This is helpful for tracking changes, reverting updates, or simply checking what’s changed over time. Versioning ensures that your submission process remains clear, even when edits are made along the way.
Best Practices
If creating new opportunities and wanting to amend existing forms, it's best practice to duplicate an existing Project, rename it with the latest opportunity and then make edits on the form there. Editing forms above should be done if needing to amend a form that is already public or being used.
