Reviews are a powerful feature in Dapple that help organisations fairly and efficiently assess submissions. Instead of decisions resting on one person, reviews enable submissions to be shared with panels of reviewers—such as readers, editors, or judges—who can each provide their input.

What is a Review Panel?

A Review Panel is a group of reviewers who can each provide their input on a submission, giving feedback, adding a score and a vote. You can:

  • Add both external and internal users in your organisation to these panels

  • Add as many reviewers as needed to each panel

  • Create different panels for different Stages of the Submission

  • Create as many panels as needed.

How to Create Review Panels

  1. Navigate to your Settings > Team Settings

  2. Select the Review Panel option

  3. You will then see a list of any existing panels you have already created. At a glance, you will be able to see details about the panels, such as the name, the number of members, a description of the panel, the Teams associated with them and the number of projects that are actively being used for this panel.

  4. Select the option to Create Review Panel, give the panel a name and add a description

How to Add Members to Review Panels

Once a panel is created, you will then be able to add members to it. Here are the steps to add members:

  1. Select Panel Members to begin adding members of your organisation to this panel.

  2. A list of all the members in your Organisation will appear along with toggle boxes next to their names. Please note - You can only add members of your Organisation to a Review Panel. If a user is not currently added to the system, they will not appear in the list, and you will first need to add them to your organisation. If you do not want the user to be able to access the dashboard (such as external reviewers or guest judges), you should only give them Reviewer level permissions - this means they only have access to a personal Review Account.

  3. Once a request has been sent to a user to join the Organisation, their email address will then appear in the list to add to a panel as a pending panel member, enabling you to create panels even if the user has yet to confirm their invitation.

  4. To add members to a panel, simply toggle their name in the list.

Once you have added all the members to your Review Panel, it is now ready to be assigned to a Project.
