Do I need to add all the locations of my buyers when setting up sales tax?
That depends on a few factors — including your own location, where you’re registered for tax purposes, and the rules in the countries where your buyers are based. Many regions have specific thresholds that determine when you’re required to register, collect, and remit VAT or sales tax outside your own country. We recommend reviewing the relevant local tax guidelines and consulting a qualified tax advisor to ensure compliance. Here's a helpful guide on the different taxes by country.
Does Dapple collect tax on my behalf?
No — as an organisation, you’re responsible for handling any applicable sales tax or VAT. Because Dapple is not the merchant of record and does not process payments directly, we’re unable to collect or remit taxes for you.
Dapple also doesn’t act as an intermediary between organisations and creators — we don’t set your pricing, manage policies, or handle refunds.
Do I need to pay tax on tips received through Dapple?
Yes — any tips or payments you receive through Dapple are generally considered taxable income. You’re responsible for reporting this income and paying any applicable taxes in line with your local regulations. For more details, see the Income tax section above.
