To bulk-assign submissions to a team member in Dapple, either tick multiple rows in the Submissions view and use With Selected → Assign To, or open the Stages view and use the stage three-dot menu → Assign To. The assigned team member receives a notification letting them know about the new assignments. Useful for the start of a review cycle or after a stage move.
When to bulk-assign
Start of a new review cycle — assign every new submission to a specific reviewer.
After a stage move — when a batch advances, give the next reviewer ownership.
Rebalancing workload — pull half a queue from one team member to another.
Handing off a programme — reassigning everything from a departing team member.
Method 1: From the Submissions view
Open the Submissions view.
Apply filters to narrow to the submissions you want to assign (optional).
Tick the rows you want to assign, or use Select All.
Click With Selected → Assign To.
Pick the team member.
Confirm.
Bulk-assign works across multiple projects in one go — useful when handing off everything someone owns.
Method 2: From the Stages view
Open the project's Stages board.
Click the three-dot menu in the top-right of the stage column containing the submissions.
Choose Assign To.
Pick the team member.
Confirm.
Stage-level bulk assign is the right choice when you want to assign everyone in a specific stage at once — for example, every Shortlist submission to a senior reviewer.
What does the assignee see?
The team member receives a notification letting them know they've been assigned to multiple submissions. The notification links to a filtered view of those submissions in their Submissions list.
Best practice
Use filters or Select All to make your selection precise before clicking Assign To.
Communicate via Slack or email when assigning a large batch — the in-app notification arrives, but a heads-up helps the receiving team member plan their day.
For ongoing programmes, automate New-stage assignment via a Stage Automation rather than bulk-assigning manually each cycle.
