What is a Creator Account and what does it Look Like?

Every applicant automatically creates a free Creator Account when submitting. Here's what it looks like.

Applicants, entrants or submitters are what we call "Creators". Subsequently, the Creator Account serves as a single, clean hub where they can see every submission, entry, or application they’ve ever made across all Dapple-powered opportunities — no matter which organisation it was for. Instead of hunting through inboxes for confirmation emails or trying to remember which platform they applied through, everything lives in one place. Simple. Centralised. Stress-free.

What Is the Creator Account?

The Creator Account is automatically created for someone the moment they fill out a Dapple form. There’s no separate sign-up process. No admin approval. No hoops.

Creators can sign in using:

  • Google sign-in

  • Microsoft sign-in

  • A secure magic link sent to their email

No passwords required. Fewer security risks. Less friction.

Why It’s Useful

For creators, especially those applying to multiple opportunities, things get messy fast. The Creator Dashboard solves that.

It allows creators to:

  • View all previous submissions

  • Access and complete draft applications

  • See which stage their submission is in (if the organisation chooses to share this)

  • Withdraw a submission

  • View attached files

  • Track payments

  • Send and receive messages (if enabled by the organisation)

  • Upload additional files (if permitted)

It brings transparency and control back to the applicant.

1. What It Looks Like for a Creator

Creators see a clear list of their submissions across all organisations.

Each entry typically shows:

  • Project or opportunity name

  • Date submitted

  • Current stage or status (if visible)

  • Payment status (if applicable)

  • Any messages

It’s a tidy overview of their creative activity.

2. Drafts Are Never Lost

If a creator starts an application but doesn’t finish it, it automatically appears in their Dashboard as a draft.

They can:

  • Reopen and complete it

  • Edit details

  • Upload attachments

  • Submit when ready

Organisations can also send draft reminder messages to gently nudge them back (if enabled).

3. Transparent Stages & Progress

Organisations can customise which stage information creators can see. For example, you might want to show to a creator that they have made it through to the First Round or simply that their application is In Progress or In Review.

This visibility is controlled by the organisation — but when enabled, it provides reassurance and clarity.

4. Messaging & Communication

If the organisation allows it, creators can:

  • Send messages directly from their dashboard

  • Receive updates or feedback

  • Upload additional files after submission

This avoids long email threads and keeps all communication tied to the specific submission. Everything stays organised.

When you send a message to a creator, it will appear in their inbox like a regular email. They will then be able to complete their submission or reply to the message by clicking on the link which will transport them straight to their page.

Then messages within their account will look similar to the organisation view.

5. Payments & Attachments

Creators can also:

  • See any payments they’ve made

  • View uploaded files

  • Add additional documents if permissions allow

This is particularly useful for competitions, awards, exhibitions, and paid applications where receipts and confirmations matter.

Mobile Friendly — Built for Real Life

The Creator Dashboard works beautifully on mobile.

That means a creator can:

  • Check their status on the train

  • Send a quick message

  • Upload a missing file

  • Confirm payment

No desktop required.

Creative work doesn’t happen at a desk 24/7 — and neither should submissions.

Free & Secure by Default

The Creator Dashboard is completely free for creators.

An account is automatically created when they first apply through Dapple. From there, they can access everything with:

  • Google

  • Microsoft

  • Or a secure magic link

No passwords. No password resets. Less friction. Better security.

In Short

The Creator Dashboard is a transparent, central hub that gives creators visibility and control over their submissions.

For organisations, it reduces support emails.

For creators, it removes uncertainty.

And for everyone involved, it makes the submission process feel a little more human.
