A Gallery in Dapple is a public page that showcases selected submissions from a project, with optional public voting built in. You turn galleries on for a project from Settings → Features, then attach a gallery to any stage in Workflow & Reviews — every submission that reaches that stage becomes eligible to appear. From there you approve which items go live, choose how voting works, customise the card design, and track results. Galleries are commonly used for public voting, public shortlists, online exhibitions and open-call showcases.

How do I turn on galleries for a project?
Galleries are off by default and are enabled per project, not account-wide. Turn them on before a gallery panel will appear anywhere else in the project.
Open the project and go to Settings → Features.
Toggle Enable galleries for this project on.
Click Save General Settings.
Once enabled, a GALLERY panel appears on every stage in Workflow & Reviews, ready for you to attach a gallery to whichever stage should publish submissions.
How do I attach a gallery to a stage?
A gallery is attached to a single stage rather than to the whole project. Any submission that reaches that stage becomes a gallery item candidate; if the submission later moves to a different stage, it's no longer eligible.
Open the project and go to Workflow & Reviews.
Find the stage submissions should publish from — for example a dedicated People's Choice Award or public-vote stage — and create a gallery from that stage's GALLERY panel.
Name the gallery and confirm its settings on the General tab (see below).
What can I configure in a gallery?
Opening Edit Gallery on any gallery gives you eight tabs. Each one controls a different part of how the gallery looks, who can vote, and what your team sees.

How do I moderate which submissions appear?
What happens when a submission reaches the source stage depends on the Gallery item moderation setting in Rules & Moderation:

From Gallery Items, filter between All, Approved, Pending, and Hidden, and use Edit, Approve/Unapprove, or Hide on any item individually. Editing an item lets you override its public Display Title and Display Summary — useful when a submission's raw form answers aren't presentable as-is. Unapproving a live item pulls it from public view without deleting the underlying submission.
How does voting work in a Gallery?
Voting is optional per gallery. Turn off Let visitors vote on gallery items on the General tab for a showcase-only page where people can browse but not vote. When voting is on, Rules & Moderation controls the mechanics:
Max Votes Per Voter sets how many gallery items one person can select and vote for (default 1).
Voting Opens At / Voting Closes At (both optional, on the General tab) schedule the voting window.
Allow voting before sign in controls when identity is checked. Off means visitors must sign in before voting; on records the vote immediately and prompts the voter to verify it by signing in afterwards. Either way, Dapple backs voting with browser/session controls, IP auditing, rate limits, and CAPTCHA.
Changing a vote lets a voter move their vote to a different item after casting it, if enabled.
Show results to voters controls when the public sees vote counts — for example, only "When voting closes". Your team can always see live counts in Voting Results, whatever this is set to.
A vote only counts as verified once the voter has confirmed their email address. Voting Results shows both a verified-votes and a total-votes column, so you can see at a glance how many votes still need confirming.
Can I customise how gallery cards and the gallery page look?
Card Design controls each card in the gallery grid: choose which submission answer becomes the card title (for example an applicant or artist name field) and which becomes the card summary, then pick which uploaded files are available as card media. A live Card preview updates as you change these, including how the vote button will appear.

How do I track gallery performance?
Analytics shows Page Visits and Signed-in Visitors totals, plus a "Visits and votes over time" chart covering the last 30 days.
Voting Results ranks every gallery item by vote count, with separate Verified and Total vote columns and a share-of-vote percentage. Switch to the Voters tab to see each individual voter's email and verification status. Export either view with Copy CSV.
Best practice
Use Pending Review moderation for open, unmoderated calls — auto-approval is fine when the source stage is already curated by your team.
Require sign-in before voting, or verification afterwards, if the result needs to be defensible — an unverified one-vote-per-person system is easy to game.
Only raise Max Votes Per Voter above 1 for "pick your favourites" style galleries; most use 1.
Use Edit on a gallery item to write a public-friendly Display Title and Summary rather than exposing raw form-field answers.
Treat Reset votes as irreversible — it wipes every item's count to zero, so only use it between distinct voting rounds, not to spot-check the page.
Choose Give this gallery page its own design when the gallery's audience (the public) needs a different look from your submission form's audience (applicants).
