To edit an existing gallery, open it from the gallery's entry in the project's Workflow & Reviews tab, and it organises everything into seven tabs — General, Gallery Items, Features, Analytics & Data, Card Design, Appearance, and Advanced. From here, you preview the public page, approve or hide individual items, reorder them, turn voting or a custom link on or off, and restyle the page, then click Save changes. What is Edit Gallery in Dapple, and how do I open it?
Edit Gallery is the settings panel for a gallery that's already been created. Open the project's Workflow & Reviews tab, find the gallery under its stage's Gallery section, and click into it (flag — confirm the exact click target, such as the gallery's name or an Edit button, as this wasn't visible in the screenshots reviewed). The panel opens with a left-hand tab list — General, Gallery Items, Features, Analytics & Data, Card Design, Appearance, and Advanced — plus Cancel, Save changes, and Remove Campaign at the bottom.
How do I preview the gallery before making it public?
Click View Gallery in the top-right corner of the Edit Gallery panel to open the public page at any time, whatever its current status. While the gallery's status is Draft, the page shows a Draft Preview banner confirming it's hidden from the public and that you're only seeing it because you have admin access — so you can check card design, wording, and layout before anyone else can see the page.
What can I change in General?
The General tab covers the same top-level settings from Name & Stage and Schedule in the setup wizard:
Gallery name — the public title, editable at any time.
Gallery link — the public URL, with Update from Name and Copy Link actions. The direct ID link keeps working even if the slug or campaign name changes later.
Gallery status — Draft, Live, Closed, or Archived, same as in Schedule.
Source stage — shown for reference but locked; it can't be changed once the gallery has items tied to it.
How do I manage which items appear in a gallery, and in what order?
The Gallery Items tab has its own Items and Moderation sub-tabs. Items lists every submission that has entered the source stage, filterable by All, Approved, Pending, and Hidden, with a live count for each. Each item shows its vote count and current stage, and gives you:
Up/down arrows — to reorder items on the public page.
Edit — to override the item's public title, summary, and images (see below).
Unapprove — to pull an already-approved item off the public page.
Hide — to remove an item from the gallery without changing its review stage.
If moderation is set to Auto-Approved, every submission that enters the source stage populates the gallery and appears here as approved automatically — you don't need to add anything by hand.
How do I override a gallery item's title, summary, or images?
Click Edit on any item in Gallery Items → Items to open Edit Gallery Item Details. From here you can:
Display Title — override the card title for this item only, without changing the submission's own data.
Display Summary — a rich-text field (bold, italic, strikethrough, lists, links) for supporting copy shown on the card.
Files shown publicly — choose which of the submission's uploaded files appear, and pick one as the card cover image.
Save applies the change; Unapprove & Save applies it and pulls the item off the public page in the same action.
How do I control whether items need approval before going public?
Moderation, under Gallery Items, has the same two options as the setup wizard's Features & Moderation step:

How do I turn on public voting?
Features → Voting controls and toggle the option on:

Voting Opens At / Closes At | Optional scheduled times for voting to open and close automatically. |

Allow voting before sign in | Lets visitors vote first and verify by signing in afterwards, rather than signing in before they can vote. Recommended on, as it reduces drop-off between casting a vote and confirming it. |
How do I add a custom link instead of voting?
Use Features → Custom link for a gallery that isn't about voting — for example, a showcase that links each item out to a shop, product page, or enquiry form. Turn on Show a custom link on gallery items, then set:
Link type — Website URL, which opens the Destination URL you enter, or Email address, which opens a mailto: link pre-filled with the gallery item's card title as the email subject.
Destination URL — the shop, product page, payment link, or email address visitors are sent to.
Link label — the button's text, such as Learn more, Enquire, Further info, or Buy
Open the link in a new tab — keeps the gallery page open in its own tab when visitors click through.
Dapple sends visitors to that destination; payment and fulfilment stay with whatever service the link points to.
How do I change what's shown on a gallery card?
Card Design → Basic details has the same fields as the setup wizard — Card title, up to 5 Additional card fields in form order, Card summary, and which uploaded files cards can use — plus a live Card preview alongside the form so you can see changes before saving. For example, an art gallery might show the artwork's title, price, and dimensions as its additional card fields. A separate section lets you choose which of a submission's files appear in the public detail view's slideshow and which one is used as the card's lead image. The Fallbacks tab still covers what displays when a submission is missing your chosen field.

How do I change how the gallery page looks?
Appearance offers the same two options as the setup wizard: Match the submission form, which keeps the gallery in sync with the project's form design automatically, or Give this gallery page its own design, which sets an independent background and colours. Switching between the two at any time doesn't affect existing gallery items or votes.
Best practices for editing a Gallery
Use View Gallery to check card design and wording from the public page's point of view before switching status to Live
Switch Moderation to Pending Review if you want a final check on each item before it's visible publicly — Auto-Approved is fine when the source stage itself is your quality gate
Turn on Allow voting before sign in if you expect casual visitors, so a sign-in prompt doesn't cost you votes
Use a Custom link with Email address and a clear Link label (e.g. Enquire) for galleries built around sales or enquiries rather than voting
Override a gallery item's Display Title or Display Summary rather than editing the submission itself, if the change is only meant for the public page
