To use tags in Dapple, apply them from any submission's detail view (click the tag cog and pick from your list) or in bulk from the Submissions list (With Selected → Tag). Filter by tag from the main filter bar — stack Submission Tag filters with Creator Tag filters to find specific cohorts. Tags appear as coloured pills on every submission row, making them visible at a glance.
How to apply a tag to a single submission
Open the submission.
In the right-hand column, find Submission Tags.
Click the cog icon to bring up the tag list.
Tick one or more tags to apply.
Click outside the picker to close — your selection saves automatically.
To apply a Creator Tag, do the same from the submission view (Creator Tags appear in the same area) or open the creator's profile directly from the Creators section.
How to apply tags in bulk
Bulk tagging is faster when you're working through a cohort:
Open the Submissions view.
Apply filters to narrow to the submissions you want to tag.
Tick the submissions or use Select All.
Click With Selected → Tag.
Pick the tag(s) to apply.
Confirm.
Bulk tagging is especially useful at the end of a review cycle — tag everyone moving to Shortlist with a 'Shortlist 2026' tag in one go.
How to filter by tag
Filtering by tag is one of the most powerful ways to find specific cohorts:
Open the Submissions view.
Click the Tag filter chip at the top.
Pick one or more tags.
Stack filters for precision — e.g. Submission Tag = Shortlist AND Creator Tag = Alumni to find shortlisted alumni.

Where tags appear
Where | How tags look |
Submissions list | Coloured pills next to each submission row — fast visual scanning. |
Stages board | Same coloured pills on each card. |
A submission's detail view | Submission Tags and Creator Tags in the right-hand column. |
The Creator's profile | Creator Tags shown at the top of the profile. |
Filtered views and Saved Views | Tag filters are part of the filter combo, so they're remembered when you save a view. |
Tips for using tags effectively
Tag as you review — don't try to apply tags retroactively at the end of a cycle.
Combine tag filters with stage filters — 'Shortlist tag + Stage = In Review' surfaces decisions in flight.
Use Saved Views with tag filters built in — create 'Shortlist 2026 awaiting review' as a saved view for one-click access.
Tag in bulk after batch decisions — don't tag 50 submissions one by one when bulk-tag does it in two clicks.
Archive old tags (or rename with year suffixes) so the tag picker doesn't get cluttered.
