If a team member doesn't appear in the @-mention dropdown in the Discuss tab, the cause is almost always permissions, account status, or the name you're typing. Work through the checks below in order — most cases resolve in under a minute. If they don't, contact support with the team member's email address.
Checklist: why a teammate might not appear

Step-by-step troubleshooting
Type the team member's first name into @-mention. Wait one second for the dropdown to populate.
If the dropdown is empty, open Settings → Users in a new tab. Search for their email.
Confirm their status is Active (not Pending).
Confirm their name in the Users list matches what you're typing.
Confirm they're in a team that has access to the current project.
If all of the above check out and they still don't appear, contact support.
Common patterns
Most often the issue is team membership. A team member added to your workspace doesn't automatically have access to every project — they need to be in the right team.
Pending invites are the second most common cause. New users can't be @-mentioned until they've accepted and signed in for the first time.
Name mismatches happen when users update their display name in their profile but you're typing their old name.
