When creators submit their work to through platform, they'll be automatically connected to the internal messaging system, making it easy to stay updated on the submission's progress. Messaging is great if you need to update creators on the status of their submission or whether requesting supplementary details or attachments to be sent etc. Here's how the messaging system works:

Account Creation

When a creator first submits work via Send Something, they'll be prompted to create a personal account on the platform. This account serves as the communication hub with your organisation.

Sending Messages

Whenever you want to send a message to a creator,

  1. You'll need to go to the submission, head to the message and compose a message. When sending a message you'll be able to configure whether they can respond to the message or not.

  2. Once sent, the creator will receive an email notification alerting them that there is a new message waiting for them. They will follow the link in the email which will take them straight through to the message in question. If allowed, they will then be able to send a message back through the portal.

See here for more info on how to send a message.

Receiving Messages

Whenever you want to send a message to a creator,

  1. In the Messages section, you'll be notified every time a creator sends a message to you appearing as a notification in the Unread section. These messages will be stored against the submission and be visible to all Team members.

  2. To view a received message, either select the message from the Unread message section or open up a submission from your main list and navigate to the Messages section within that submission.

  3. You will see a blue dot to notify that there is a new, unread message stored against this submission.

Message History

All communication between you, team members and the creators is stored securely in your account. This creates a complete record of the submission's history, progress and any discussions about work.

Message Filtering

You can search for messages using the search tool and filter down your messages by different criteria

  • Date

  • Sent/Received

  • Read/Unread (the user who read the message will also display)

Message Notifications

  • Any new received messages will automatically show as a new notification in the Unread section of the side panel.

  • Any unread messages will appear with a blue dot

  • Any read messages will display along with the user that opened the message.

  • The "read" status of any messages sent to a creator will be displayed. Please note that a creator will never be able to see if you, as an organisation, has read their messages sent to you.

Privacy and Security

Your messages and account information remain private and secure within the platform. Only you and team members with the correct permissions from your organisation can access the communications.
