Communicating with creators about their submissions is simple through our messaging platform. Follow these steps to send a message:

Accessing the Messaging Feature

  1. Navigate to the individual submission you wish to discuss

  2. Click on the Messages tab

  3. You'll see a chronological list of all previous messages sent and received for this submission

Setting Reply Permissions

Before composing your message, decide whether you want to allow the creator to reply:

  • Allow Replies: Toggle the "Allow" option ON if you want to open a dialogue with the creator.

  • One-Way Messages: Toggle the "Allow" option OFF for announcements or final decisions (such as declining a submission) that don't require a response.

  • You can update this toggle at any point which will automatically enable or disable their ability to reply.

Composing Your Message

  1. Click the Compose button to open the text editor

  2. You can either:

    • Write a new message from scratch in the text field

    • Select from pre-existing message templates

    • Edit a template to customise it for this specific situation

Sending Your Message

  1. Double-check your reply settings (whether you're allowing the creator to respond)

  2. Review your message content for clarity and accuracy

  3. Click the Send button

  4. You will be able to see the read status of a message sent to a creator. Please note that they will not be able to see the read status of any messages sent to you as an organisation.

Creator Notification

After sending:

  • The creator will receive an email notification about your message

  • The email contains a direct link to log in to their account and view the message

  • Your message will be stored in the submission's message history for future reference

Remember that clear communication helps creators understand your feedback and expectations.
