Why Withdrawing a Submission Can Be Important

Sometimes, after submitting a form or application, you might realise that changes are needed. You might need to correct mistakes, update certain bits of information or simply withdraw it from the submission process. That’s where the withdraw function comes in. Withdrawing a submission allows you to take it back for editing or review before it continues through the review or processing workflow.

How to Withdraw a Submission on Dapple

You can withdraw a submission from your Dapple dashboard at any time — as long as the organisation hasn't started reviewing it yet. Withdrawing removes the submission from the organisation's queue immediately and returns it to Draft so you can edit and resubmit.

When can I withdraw?

Only submissions that the organisation hasn't moved into their review process (status: Received) can be withdrawn. Once they've started assessing your submission, the Withdraw option is no longer available. If you need to make changes after that point, message the organisation directly and ask.

How to withdraw a submission

  • Sign in at app.dapplehq.com.

  • Find the submission in your submissions dashboard. Use the search or status filter if needed.

  • Click the three-dot (…) Actions menu on the right-hand side of the submission row.

  • Select Withdraw.

  • Confirm when prompted. The submission returns to Draft and is removed from the organisation's queue.

What happens to the organisation?

The organisation loses access to the submission immediately. They can no longer view your form data, attachments, or any previous messages. If you later resubmit, the organisation sees it as a new entry — not a restoration of the original.

Can I find my withdrawn submissions?

Yes. Withdrawn submissions appear back in your dashboard as Drafts. You can also filter by Withdrawn status to see submissions you've previously recalled. From a Draft, edit anything you need to change and submit again — subject to the organisation's deadline.
