Adding a reviewer to a Review Round in Dapple happens in two steps: invite them as a user in your organisation's Settings, then add them to the round's Members step, or its Review Group once the round is saved. Until they accept the invite, they appear as pending. Once accepted, any submissions already assigned to them appear automatically in their personalised Review Account, which has no admin access. You don't have to add reviewers during setup — leave the Members step blank in the wizard and add people to the Review Group at any time afterwards.
How do you add a reviewer to a Review Round in Dapple?
Adding a reviewer is a two-step process. First, invite them as a user in your organisation — open Settings and send the invite from there. Second, once the invite is sent, add them to the Review Round itself, on step 5 (Members) of the setup wizard, or from the Review Group section of an existing round's settings.
Search for the person by email under Eligible reviewers and tick them to add them to the round.
What happens before a reviewer accepts their invite?
A reviewer added to a Review Round shows as pending until they accept the invitation sent when they were added as a user. Pending only means they've been added to the round and are waiting to activate their account — they don't have access to anything in Dapple yet.
What does a reviewer see once they accept?
Once a reviewer accepts their invite, they get a personalised Review Account. If submissions were already assigned to them while they were pending, those submissions appear automatically — there's no separate step to release assigned work once someone accepts.
What can a reviewer access in Dapple?
A reviewer's account is scoped to reviewing. They see their own dashboard — the submissions assigned to them, across every Review Round they're part of — and nothing else. Reviewers have no access to admin areas: no project settings, no other reviewers' scores, no organisation-wide data. This holds whether the reviewer is an internal team member or an external collaborator invited specifically to review. If you are a team member or admin, you will be able to access your own Review Account by selecting your profile in the top right hand corner and then selecting My Reviews.
Can you create a Review Round without adding members?
Yes. Leave the Members step blank in the setup wizard and save the round anyway — an empty Review Group doesn't block creation. Add reviewers at any point afterwards from the round's settings. This is useful when your reviewer list isn't finalised yet but you want the rest of the round — guidance, deadlines, scoring — configured and ready.
Where do you manage reviewers after a Review Round is created?
Once a Review Round exists, its members live under Review Group in the round's settings. This shows everyone currently assigned, with an Edit members button to add or remove people. Like every other part of a Review Round, membership can be changed at any time.
