How to Edit Your Submission on Dapple

Edit a draft any time from your Dapple account, or edit a submission you've already sent by withdrawing it, changing it and resubmitting. Sign in with the same email you used.

Written by Oz Osbaldeston

Every submission you start on Dapple is saved to your account, so you can come back and edit it at any time before you submit. Sign in at app.dapplehq.com with the same email address you used to apply, open the draft, make your changes and submit. Once a submission has been sent, it's locked — to edit it, you withdraw it. Withdrawing doesn't delete anything: it moves your submission back to a draft so you can change it and submit again, as long as the organisation hasn't started reviewing it and the deadline hasn't passed.

Where is my submission saved?

In your Dapple account. Every submission — draft, submitted or withdrawn — is listed on your dashboard, across every organisation you've applied to.

  1. Go to app.dapplehq.com and sign in.

  2. Your dashboard lists all your submissions with their status.

  3. Use search or the status filter to find the one you want.

Use the same email address every time. Dapple finds your submissions by email. If you sign in with a different address, Dapple creates a new, empty account — your submissions aren't lost, they're in the account linked to your original email.

How do I edit a submission I haven't sent yet?

A submission you haven't sent is a Draft. Only you can see it, and you can edit it as often as you like.

  1. Sign in with the email address you used to start the submission.

  2. Find the submission on your dashboard — it shows as Draft.

  3. Open it and make your changes.

  4. Submit when you're ready.

How do I edit a submission I've already sent?

Withdraw it. In Dapple, Withdraw means "take it back so I can edit it" — it doesn't cancel your application for good.

  1. Sign in at app.dapplehq.com with the same email address.

  2. Find the submission on your dashboard.

  3. Click the three-dot (…) Actions menu on the right of the submission.

  4. Select Withdraw and confirm. The submission moves back to Draft.

  5. Open the draft and make your changes.

  6. Submit it again.

A withdrawn submission isn't with the organisation until you resubmit it. Don't forget the last step — and resubmit before the deadline.

When can I withdraw a submission?

Situation

Can you withdraw and edit?

What to do instead

Status is Received and the call is still open

Yes

—

The organisation has started reviewing it

No — Withdraw no longer appears

Message the organisation and ask them to make the change.

The deadline has passed

You can withdraw, but you may not be able to resubmit

Don't withdraw. Message the organisation instead.

You only need to fix a typo or small detail

Yes, but it's usually not worth it

Message the organisation — they can correct it for you.

What happens when I withdraw?

  • Your submission returns to Draft in your account, with all your answers and files still there.

  • The organisation can no longer see it until you resubmit. They are not notified that you have withdrawn, it will simply disappear from their admin page.

  • When you resubmit, the organisation sees it as a new submission.

  • If you paid a fee, withdrawing doesn't refund it. Check with the organisation before withdrawing a paid submission as they will need to refund you. If the edit required is small, it's advisable to send the updated file or edit directly to the org and they will be able to change in the backend. Contact them directly though their website, social media etc.

I can't find my submission. What should I check?

Editing your submission: frequently asked questions

Question

Answer

Is there an "Edit" button on a sent submission?

No. Sent submissions are locked to keep the review fair. Withdraw to unlock it.

Will withdrawing delete my work?

No. Everything stays in your draft, ready to edit.

Do I need to resubmit after editing?

Yes. The organisation only sees your submission once you submit it again.

Will I have to pay again?

If the form has a fee, you will be asked to pay again when you resubmit. Ask the organisation about a refund for the first payment.

Can I edit after the deadline?

Usually not. Message the organisation and ask.

Best practice

  • Always sign in with the same email address you first used to apply.

  • Check everything before you submit — it saves withdrawing later.

  • For small fixes, message the organisation rather than withdrawing.

  • If you withdraw, resubmit straight away so you don't miss the deadline.
