Yes. Every Organisation Administrator and team member in Dapple already has a Review Account, so they can review submissions without a new invite or a change of permissions. Assign them submissions like any other reviewer — from the submissions list, the Stages board, or by adding them to a Review Round's reviewer pool. To find the submissions assigned to you, open the side panel on the right and select My Reviews. Your admin access stays exactly as it was.
How do I make an admin or team member a reviewer in Dapple?
You don't need to set anything up. Assign them submissions the same way as an external judge:
By hand: select submissions in the submissions list or on the Stages board, assign them to the Review Round and choose the admin or team member.
Automatically: add them to the Review Round's reviewer pool, if the round sends submissions automatically.
Where do I find the submissions assigned to me?
Open the side panel on the right.
Select My Reviews.
Your Review Account shows only the submissions assigned to you, under Awaiting Review, In Review and Submitted. Score, vote and comment the same way any reviewer does, then submit. See How to Review Submissions.
How is reviewing as an admin different from being an external judge?
| Admin or team member | External judge (Reviewer permission only) |
Invite needed to review | No — already has a Review Account | Yes, with the Reviewer permission |
Where they review | My Reviews, in the side panel on the right | Their Review Account, straight after signing in |
Admin dashboard | Keeps full access | No access |
Can see other reviewers' scores | Yes, from the admin side | No |
Reviewing works the same for both. The difference is that admins and team members can still see everything else in the admin dashboard.
Can admins see other reviewers' scores before they review?
Yes. Admins and team members can see review results from the admin side, including other reviewers' scores and comments on submissions they've been assigned. To keep your own scoring independent, complete your reviews before you look at anyone else's.
What’s the difference between being a submission’s Owner and being its reviewer?
An admin or team member can be a submission’s Owner, its reviewer, or both, and the two roles do different jobs. The Owner is the person on your team responsible for managing the submission: moving it through stages, messaging the applicant and following it up. Owners can filter the submissions list to see the submissions they own. Being an Owner doesn’t put the submission in your Review Account or ask you for any feedback. A reviewer is someone assigned to score, vote on and comment on the submission. Those submissions appear under My Reviews, and the reviewer’s feedback counts towards the submission’s results.
| Owner | Reviewer |
What it means | You manage the submission | You give feedback on the submission |
Where you see it | Filter the submissions list by Owner | My Reviews in the side panel on the right |
Counts towards review scores | No | Yes |
Best practice for admins who review
Score your assigned submissions before checking other reviewers' results.
Follow the same guidance and criteria as the rest of the reviewers.
Remember to submit — reviews left as Ready to Submit don't count towards totals.
If you're one of several reviewers on a submission, avoid discussing scores with other reviewers until everyone has submitted.
