To assign a team member to a submission in Dapple, open the submission, find the Assignee field in the Creator section, and pick a team member. To assign in bulk, tick multiple submissions and use With Selected → Assign To, or assign every submission in a stage column via the stage three-dot menu. Assignees get a notification immediately.
Why assign team members?
Make ownership explicit — every submission has one accountable person.
Surface workload — see at a glance which team members have the heaviest queue.
Trigger notifications — assignees know immediately when something needs their attention.
Filter cleanly — combine Assignee with other filters to find 'what's on my plate'.
How to assign a single submission
Open the submission you want to assign.
In the Creator section, find the Assignee field.
Click into the field and search for the team member.
Select them.
If a team member doesn't appear in the search, they likely don't have permissions for this project's team. Check their team membership in Settings → Users.
How to bulk-assign from the Submissions list
Open the Submissions view.
Tick the submissions you want to assign (or use Select All).
Click With Selected → Assign To.
Pick the team member.
How to bulk-assign from the Stages view
Open the Stages view.
Click the three-dot menu on the stage column with the submissions you want to assign.
Choose Assign To.
Pick the team member.
Every assigned team member receives a notification letting them know they've been assigned — single or in bulk.
Best practice
Assign New-stage submissions on arrival so nothing sits unowned. Use a Stage Automation to do this automatically.
Re-assign when handing off — never leave a submission with the wrong owner.
Use Random Team Member assignment via Stage Automations for fair workload distribution.
Filter by Assignee + your name to see your personal queue.
