How to Download Your Submission or Draft from Dapple

Download a copy of your submitted or draft work from Dapple as a ZIP or PDF — with or without your form answers.

Written by Oz Osbaldeston

Downloading a submission in Dapple saves a copy of your own work — the answers you gave on the form and the files you uploaded — to your device. Sign in at app.dapplehq.com, open the submission from My Submissions, click Download submission in the top-right corner, then choose Submission and files (ZIP), Files only (ZIP) or Export to PDF. It works for work you’ve already submitted and for drafts you’re still working on, so you always have a copy for your records.

How do I download my submission in Dapple?

Download any submission from inside the submission itself.

  1. Go to app.dapplehq.com and sign in. Use the same email address you submitted with.

  2. Open the submission or draft you want from My Submissions.

  3. Click Download submission in the top-right corner.

  4. Choose Submission and files (ZIP), Files only (ZIP) or Export to PDF.

  5. The download saves to your device’s usual downloads folder.

Which download option should I choose?

Pick the option based on what you need the copy for.

Option

What you get

Best for

Submission and files (ZIP)

Your form answers plus every file you uploaded, in one ZIP file

A complete copy of everything you sent

Files only (ZIP)

Only the files you uploaded — no form answers

Getting your original files back, e.g. images, manuscripts or audio

Export to PDF

Your form answers as a single PDF document

A readable record to keep, print or refer back to

Not sure? Choose Submission and files (ZIP). It includes everything.

Can I download a draft I haven’t submitted yet?

Yes. Drafts download in exactly the same way as submitted work. Open the draft from the Drafts section of My Submissions, click Download submission, and choose an option.

  • Save your progress first. The download includes what you’ve saved to your draft.

  • Downloading doesn’t submit anything. Your draft stays a draft until you submit it.

  • The organisation still can’t see it. Drafts are visible only to you, whether or not you download them.

How do I open a ZIP file?

A ZIP file bundles several files into one download. Unzip it to see the contents.

Device

How to open it

Mac

Double-click the ZIP file. A folder with the same name appears next to it.

Windows

Right-click the ZIP file, choose Extract All, then click Extract.

Phone or tablet

Open it from your Files app. Most phones unzip it when you tap the file.

Why can’t I see the Download submission button?

The button only appears inside an individual submission, not on the My Submissions list.

  • You’re on the list view. Click a submission or draft to open it, then look in the top-right corner.

  • You’re signed in with a different email address. Your submissions are linked to the email you used when submitting. Sign out and sign back in with that address.

  • The submission isn’t showing at all. See “Submission not found” — what to do.

Tips for keeping a copy of your work

  • Download a copy straight after you submit, so you have a record of exactly what you sent.

  • Use Files only (ZIP) if you’ve lost the original files on your own device.

  • Use Export to PDF to reuse your written answers in other applications.

  • Save your draft before downloading so the copy is up to date.

  • Store downloads somewhere secure — they may include personal details you entered on the form.
